French toast with Boerinneke chocolate spread and strawberries

FRENCH TOAST WITH BOERINNEKE CHOCOLATE SPREAD AND STRAWBERRIES

Which ingredients do you need?

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2dl milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • butter
  • stale bread
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 box strawberries
  • 2 - 3 tbsp Boerinneke chocolate spread

Method?

1. Slice the strawberries, add the juice of half a lemon and set aside to steep at room temperature. 
2. Separate the egg whites from the yolk. Add the sugar, cinnamon and milk to the yolk and blend well using a whisk. Cut the bread into thick slices. 
3. Spread a slice of bread with Boerinneke chocolate spread and top with a second slice of bread. 
4. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture. Put a knob of butter in a frying pan and turn the heat on low. 
5. Once the butter has melted, add the slices of bread to the frying pan. Fry for about 4 minutes for thick slices and 2 minutes for thin slices.
