Monster Brownies with Boerinneke


Which ingredients do you need?

  • 300 - 350 grams of Boerinneke Dark Chocolate Paste
  • 100 grams unsalted butter
  • 250 grams of (granulated) sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 125 grams of flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • Candy eyeballs


1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Meanwhile, cover the baking tray with baking paper. 
2. Mix the sugar, vanilla and eggs until smooth. 
3. Gently melt the Boerinneke chocolate paste and butter on low heat and blend it with the other batter.
4. Sieve the flour and mix it into the creamy mixture. 
5. Add a pinch of salt.
6. Pour the batter into the baking tray.
7. Bake the brownies for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
TIP: If you are not sure if your brownies are ready, take a look at the top of the cake. If they have cracks and the middle seems solid (not wet!), they can be taken out of the oven.
8. Let the Halloween cake cool down to room temperature and then cut into small slices.
9. Now it's time for the finishing touch: top it off with the eyes. Glue two eyes on each brownie slice.
TIP: You can stick these on with a little amount of chocolate paste. That way the eyes can't slide off the brownies.
